Barnaby Brook

 On March 6th 2013 - Kempton

BARNABY BROOK   won in good style after a 120 day break . Richard Huges gave him a patient ride winning by a comfortable 1/2 length, the jockey thought he was a cracking horse with more to come.

Let hope so and look forward to his next run !.

THE STIG made his debut at Huntingdon on Sunday 3rd March, in a bumper finishing 6th of 13. A very pleasing debut and he has come out of his race well. We will be looking forward to his French companion EN JOUR DE ETE running from Brook Farm in the next few weeks.

Annoyingly – 4 days prior to leave for my cycle ride another challenge has come my way – I fell off my horse and broke my leg !!

Cycle ride postponed until May 2013 – Thank you for all that have sponsored me and all money has gone to the charity – so will fulfill my challenge once my leg is back in working order.

You will be pleased to hear it was not from one of the race horses that I fell – my naughty play horse – who is now somewhere else !!!

At most of you know Emma had a bad skiing accident in March. This led to an ACL reconstruction and cartilage repair on her right knee on 18th April 2012. This as you can imagine was a painful and frustratin operation, which is taking a long time to heal. Emma will not race ride again and needed another challenge to replace this and get herself back to fitness and repair!!
So killing a few birds with one stone, for her rehabilitation , fitness and helping children with cancer, Emma has decided to take the challenge of cycling from London to Paris on 12th September of this year.
This is a proper challenge as it is 320 miles with 95 miles being on the first day!!!!!
We would hugely appreciate if you sponsor Emma, you can send a cheque made out to Clic Sergent or donate online at
CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. We provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. We are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement. For more information, please visit
Every day, 10 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. Treatment normally starts immediately, is often given many miles from home and can last for up to three years. Being diagnosed with cancer is a frightening experience and the emotional, practical and financial implications of treatment are intensely challenging for the whole family.

Big Thanks in Advance from Emma and The Team at Brook Farm

MILLIBAR MAKES IT 2/2 AT BATH - 27/06/2012

Millbar did us proud again this evening at Bath beating Johnathan Portmans Courtland Avenue by 2 1/2 Lengths.  Given yet another fantastic ride by Tom MacLaughin Millibar showed her quick turn of foot battling on to the line.

Millibar won in style at Bath on Friday for Mrs Linda Francis.  Finishing strongly in a 5 furlong EBF Maiden on Good to Soft Ground and battling the wind Millibar was given an excellent quick thinking ride by Tom Mclaughlin switching to the left to find a gap and running on strongly in the final furlong to win by a neck.

Millibar's win gives us a 16% strike rate of winners for 2012 and ups our strike rate to the winners enclosure to 50%.  We also have a 20% strike rate of winners on the turf.

Puff The Magic Dragon and Mutared are currently having some time in the field. Whilst riding out over the weekend we looked across the field and spotted Puff sitting up enjoying the sunshine.  Puff is an Irish Sports Horse who belongs to Emma.  He is a sensible fellow and will be used to lead the youngsters and for Emma to hunt and event.  Look out for Emma and Puff at the end of the eventing season.

Betty Brook hit the winning post on her 6th start under the former champion Jockey Ryan Moore, who gave her a great  ride. Her sucess was not out of turn, havining finshed 2nd on her previous start at Lingfield.  A genuine filly who has ever chance of visiting the winners enclosure again.

She also gave Amy her first winning lead up.  Amy rides Betty everyday and also rides Penbryn who recently won for us.  Maybe she is our lucky charm?
