OWNERSHIP
When it comes down to owning a Racehorse there are many options open to any potential owner, depending on the amount of involvement you wish to take and of course your budget. Below you will see the different types of Ownership available and this may give you an idea of what would be best for you!
Sole Ownership
The great thing about Sole Ownership is that you own the horse outright without any parties being involved. The horse runs in your name, colours and if it is an un-named horse you can choose the name. You are responsible for all costs but also responsible for all prize money!
Joint Ownership
A super way to get involved in racing with friends or family and at the same time keeping the cost down. A Joint Ownership can be anything from 2 to 20 people and can run in a Syndicate name or any name decided by the Owners.
Racing Partnership
Again another cost effective way of getting involved in racing but still with all of the fun of being a Racehorse owner. This Partnership can be from 2 to 20 people and the only difference between the Joint Ownership and the Racing Partnership is that 2 of the Owners must be registered Owners.
Racing Club
This is a great way of becoming involved in racing at minimal costs but still with the same amount of enjoyment as any other owner but with out the responsibility. A really good way of having your first taste of racing and meeting lots of new people.
Leasing
When leasing a Racehorse, you do not actually own that horse and so do not have any capital to lay out. You do still have all of fun of being an Owner and only have to worry about the monthly training fees and of course the prize money.
